I teach in the Informatics program at the Faculty of Information Technology and Data Science, Universitas Sebelas Maret.
My research is in learning analytics. Universities collect vast amounts of academic data without really putting it to use, and I am interested in what that data can actually tell us about a student's path through their studies. In recent years I have worked on predicting academic performance and on-time graduation from LMS activity traces, and on feature selection for estimating dropout risk. Since early 2026 I have been studying fairness in automated essay scoring, and this is the part of my work that calls for the most caution. A model can look accurate overall yet be wrong again and again for the same group of students, while its outputs are already being used to decide who needs support.
A longer-standing interest of mine is why a technology ends up being adopted, or abandoned. I started by studying the success factors of e-learning in higher education in 2018, and since 2023 I have been part of research on Indonesia's national induction-stove conversion program: how ready the technology is, whether households intend to use it, and whether the program can last once government assistance ends.
Most of this work does not stay on paper. I built EduRIMS to manage research information, followed by the data analytics and accreditation reporting portals at UNS, and later ArredoGen for a furniture business. Since 2017 I have also been involved in community engagement, mostly with schools and small businesses: installing open-source software at MI Al Huda Cawan, fixing networks and CCTV systems, and introducing online learning tools at SMP Negeri 2 Jaten.

It estimates which students are at risk of graduating late or dropping out, covering everything from pulling the data to the model in use. Data comes from the national PDDikti Neo Feeder and is cleaned first; every prediction model is versioned, its results are monitored, and at-risk cases are followed up. Its accreditation module prepares the data for IAPT/IAPS, LKPS, and the self-evaluation report (LED). Rebuilt from Yii2 on Laravel 13, with raw, cleaned, and application data kept in three separate databases.
